Spoon Betel box Basket with lid Dining table Lesa This traditional dining table was called "Lesa". The dishes were placed on this table and the family members sat around it during their meals. An old saying refered to this table: "If you become rich and famous, do not forget your "Lesa" (ancestry) and your "Adat" (traditional culture). Today this dining tables are neither used nor produced anymore. Spoon Spoon hanger This netting was used to store spoons (mostly made of coconut shells), in particular in connection with traditional ceremonies ("Adat"-rites) like weddings: the bride had to relocate her household and personal effects (including this plaited spoon holder) to the house of the bridegroom. Today these spoon holders are neither produced nor in use. Reel Sago form This form for Sago is typical for Saparua. Set of sieves Set of boxes A set of boxes made of Pandanus leaves; used to store clothes, decorations and other items of value.

One meaning of this ceremony was to symbolize the plentifulness and unity of the Maluku Islands.

Every young woman has to learn the technique of weaving before she is allowed to marry.
