The chain mail has a form of short coat with sleeves to the elbows. The helmet was hammered from a piece of steel. Along the lower edge of the helmet there is underslinged a chain mail, which could protect the whole face or may cover only the back of the neck and cheeks. This chain is characterized by its delicate workmanship. Lightness of the chain mail enabled the warrior to mount a horse. This helmet was gained in Afghanistan, but in a typological way it corresponds with other examples of Persian-type helmets from the 18-19th centuries. Objects of this type do not appear very often in collections, so this example deserves to be labelled as a masterpiece.
