Generally, head family shrines have names followed by a suffix "-sa", which means the shrine is housing the family's ancestral tablet. However, this shrine exceptionally acquired the name, "Youngwu", since it placed a portrait instead of a tablet, for ancestral rites. And as can be seen from the name, Oriyoungwu is applicable to a kind of "bulcheonui shrine", a shrine for a person who holds an indisputable position, only to commemorate Ori, Yi Wonik. The signboard was written by Geungok, Yi Gwanjing (1618~1695). The meaning of the signboard is as follows: "This building was built in October of 1693 at the old site of Gwangamdang which is a house bestowed by King Injo when Yi Wonik moved to the present Sohadong of Gwangmyeongsi." Gwangamdang is a house bestowed upon Yi Wonik by King Injo in 1630 and is a place where Yi Wonik spent the last four years of his life.
