It was hoped to show a high-resolution photograph of the original painting as sufficient to convey the artist’s approach to representing his subject. The artist’s son, Pierre le Brocquy: ‘Although he has no objections to the use of reproductions in exhibitions [… my father … ] feels reproductions/projections can complement an exhibition offering interesting points of focus so long as the original works are present to be experienced.’ It was, however, kindly agreed that a poster could be shown instead (published by Principle Management, via Taylor Galleries, Dublin).
Postcards of the original are also available at the National Gallery of Ireland. In regard to the above views Pierre le Brocquy adds ‘My father has no objections to being quoted in the manner you envisage.’
