Thang

Sönam Lo-trö (1456-1521) was a local abbot. His seated figure is shown surrounded by registers depicting details of his life. It is the thang kha as a whole, with all of this information - not just the apparent ‘portrait’ of the central figure itself - that conveys his distinct identity.
