On March, 2005, Heojun Museum opened in Gayang-dong, Gangseo-gu of Seoul, where Heojun is known to have been born, grown up, written Donguibogam, and died. Heojun Museum was established to pay tribute to the scholarly achievements of Heojun and to enable visitors to easily familiarize themselves with traditional culture and Oriental medicine via exhibition and education. The museum has a 3 floor building above ground which houses Heojun memorial hall, medical instrument hall, Joseon royal hospital and oriental medicine hall, and experience hall etc., as well as an audio visual hall with approximately 100 seats where various education and events are hosted. On the rooftop, there is a herb garden where visitors can observe a wide range of medicinal herbs and plants. Currently, this museum has 2 nationally designated treasures as well as approximately 800 objects including various medical books, medical instruments, and so on.
