The Dombra of Dina Nurpeisova was handed over to the museum from the collection of famous researcher of music BolatSarybayev. Reaching 91cm in length and 19cm in width, the Dombra is decorated with national ornaments while the body and its front side are not painted.The priceless heritage of Dina Nurpeisova, the most prominent representatives of Kazakh art kyui, is one of the most valuable exhibits of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

History of the Object
Dina Nurpeisova was a famous composer, performer of traditional music genre - kyui, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR. She was born in 1861 in the town of Naryn-kum (currently West Kazakhstan region). Dina Nurpeisova’s tutor was the legendary folk musician KurmangazySagyrbayuly, who was also well known as the author of classical Kyuis such as “Bulbul”, “Zhenis”, “Bayzhuma”, “Zhiger”, “Ana amanaty”, “Asemkonyr”, “Toybastar”. In 1939 during the All-Union competition of performers on folk instruments in Moscow, she won I-place and the people called her “Zhambul of dombra”. Her kyuis differ not only in the wide range of music and thematic development, but also a great soul, sincerity of emotional expression.
