Why this is a
Masterpiece

The vase is an example of extraordinary sophistication in terms of the distribution of the network of craquelures on four levels, each of which was subtly highlighted with a different celadon shade.

History of the Object
The seal imprinted on the bottom reads: Chenghua nian zhi, which would mean that the vessel was made during the reign of Emperor Chenghua (1465-1487). However, this is an excellent example of 18th century craftmanship which delights connoisseurs despite its later dating.
