This plaster medallion which represents a scene of a beautiful boy Ganymede with Zeus in the form of an eagle is a masterpiece of the museum with its unique features. The medallion was probably used as a decorative element.

History of the Object
A seated young man in profile is holding a vessel resting on his legs. An eagle with spread wings is depicted in profile on the right eating from the vessel. The scene has been identified as the beautiful boy Ganymede feeding the eagle of Zeus.
