Masterpiece

This is the only complete wooden sculpture from Gandhara region of sitting Buddha in Abhaya Mudra, having unique characteristics of Gandhara Art. It was found at the archaeological site of Mes Aynak.

History of the Object
It is a wooden carved representation of a Buddha in abhaya mudra, sitting on a lotus throne, and surrounded by a mandorla.
