Why this is a
Masterpiece

Bodhisattva Maiterya is selected as a masterpiece due to its unique artistic features of the Irano-Buddhist style, as well as the special archaeological background of Fondukistan site. Fondukistan site is dated to 5th to 8th century AD. During that era Buddhist art had almost disappeared in other parts of the country while in this statue of Bodhisattva Maiterya we can find the excellent artistic features of Buddhist iconography.
