Why this is a
Masterpiece

This object is considered as the property of a deity in Thí's family and has therefore a special status.

History of the Object
In 1943, on arrival at her in laws, Thí saw this lime pot. Her mother-in-law bought it with some tools for preparing the areca leaves and betel nuts. Her mother-in-law protected it carefully in her room because it is considered the property of a deity. She took it out to make a betel chew or to welcome guests. She put lime with a knife onto the betel leaf which she rolled. After every use a little lime stayed at the opening of the pot, and slowly a spout was formed. She thought that the longer the spout the richer the family. There is a smal seated lion on its body and under its handle and she said that she bought it because of its beauty based on the symbol of the lion.
