The bowl is the oldest piece of art in the museum collections.

History of the Object
This terracotta jar has a stylized animal frieze in black on a red background. It was found in Ismal-Ahbad (Esmailabad), an archaeological site to the northwest of Tehran, and excavated by an Iranian expedition in 1959.
