Why this is a
Masterpiece

The upper part is finely quilted at intervals of 1 mm and the bottom of the ayam is trimmed with fur. The ayamdrim (ribbon) is made with two fabrics and each one measures 8.5 cm wide and 10.6 cm high. Five pieces of orpiment are attached to the ayamdrim.

History of the Object
The ayam, a type of winter headgear was worn by women when going out. The top of the ayam was open, and the back part of the ayam, called ayamdrim, hung down.
