This woman's jacket with silver ornaments is very unique.

History of the Object
Auguste François was a French diplomat (consul) in China from 1886 to 1904. More than 500 objects collected in China and Vietnam were given to the Musée de l'Homme by his widow, Mme François, in 1974. The largest part of the Asian collection of the musée du quai Branly comes from the Musée de l'Homme. Since 1997, new acquisitions were made by the musée du quai Branly.
