It is a very popular and representative piece of pottery from the past.

History of the Object
A bulbous black–glazed Martaban jar with four handles and decoration in the form of bosses. These jars were produced and sold at the Martaban (moketama) Port by ocean-going sailing ships during the Hanthawaddy period (16th century). These jars were used for storing water and food supplies.
