An object giving sound evidence that Buddhism flourished in Myanmar since the Pyu period (BCE 5th – 9th Century). It is therefore of great historical value.

History of the Object
The walls of the casket are decorated with bold reliefs of the four Buddhas who attained enlightenment in the present world and their disciples. Pyu inscriptions which resemble the Pyu stone inscriptions from the 5th Century can be found at the side of the lid and around the base.
