Why this is a
Masterpiece

These trousers are intricately embroidered. Trouser embroidery is like a showcase for the makers or the wearers. From these trousers, one can tell to which sub-branch, group, or sub-group the wearer belongs, where she lives, whether she is old or young, her inclinations, whether she has good or bad eyesight. Indeed, a future husband may well look at his fiancee’s trousers to evaluate some traits of her character, as they are reflected by her work. On this trousers are 14 kinds of pattern, each pattern has a name and a meaning. Embroidery is reserved for the leg section and can cover the whole leg area. It is made of natural hand-woven cotton and black dye. The embroidered sections are sewn together with other indigo cotton parts that make up the trousers.

History of the Object
This is a pair of new trousers, made by Mrs. Feuy Chiyao of Jhong Ka village. She sold these trousers because she needed money and could produce new ones.
