This glove puppet stage reflects the 1970s style of stage panel artwork. This type of Dian Zhu (electric bulb) stage is one of the most beautiful stages built for puppetry in Singapore and Malaysia. The design of the stage seeks to represent the architecture of the traditional permanent stage. This portable version could be set up or dismantled within an hour.

History of the Object
This glove puppet stage belonged to Xin Sai Le, a troupe that travelled to Singapore from Fujian, China in the 1930s.
