Why this is a
Masterpiece

The Double Fan Dance was one of the representative works of the folk dance paintings. In these works, the dancers' action was appropriately exaggerated in order to enhance the rhythm of the paintings. Besides, the facial expression of the figures reflects a joyful atmosphere.

History of the Object
Two damsels in this painting, dressed in Chinese traditional costumes, are dancing with folding fans. The painting was signed with" Yu Liang 55" at the top right corner besides the hanging lantern. In the middle of the 1950s, Pan Yuliang created a series of oil paintings and ink and colour paintings with Chinese folk dance as a theme.
