The dress masterly recreates blooming and thriving autumn plants and flowers such as chrysanthemums, bush clovers, balloon flower, and silver grass on a white twill base. Careful attention has been given to a distribution of patterns suited to such a dress, with heavier ones at the bottom and lighter ones at the shoulders. It is important Cultural Property.

History of the Object
This kosode dress is said to have been hand-painted by Ogata Korin in the Hoei Era (1704-1711) as a gift for a woman of the Fuyuki clan, who gave Korin lodging in the city of Edo.
