Why this is a
Masterpiece

Petruk’s crooked nose, his smile and his ponytail made of plant fiber are so realistic that it is truly impressive.

History of the Object
A kulkul is a slitdrum with a face of Petruk, a popular character in an Indonesian shadow theater, Wayang, whose role is to ridicule the foolishness of humanity through humor and satire. Sound is made by striking the hollowed drum with a phallic shaped stick.
