Why this is a
Masterpiece

It is the most ancient firearm found on Mongolian territory. It was found in 1958 at the ”Bulunbuir” Monastery of the “Khulunbuir” Sum of Dornod Province. This firearm was made by pouring bronze in a special form.

History of the Object
On the barrel there are two rows of 31 Chinese characters which are clearly readable: . “U-lin Wei Ung (the guard soldiers' name) number 245, long and short muzzle, it weights 1 kg. 575 gr. It was made by the bureau which is called the treasure in the best days of August of Hunnu’s fifth year “ . According to the writing on this bronze gun, it was made during the Hunnu first king's rule of the Min State. Uan Chuy was a king from 1368 until 1398.

The firearm consists of three parts: barrel, body and rear. The length of the barrel is 35.8 cm, straight spout is 2.2 cm, the body has an oval shape: 7 cm, and it has a 3 mm. hole in the middle to fire. The weight of the gun is 1575 gr.

Function
Firearm; in the front of the back side of the gun there is a convex ring. At the end of the barrel there are two obstacles which are separated by a cartridge. When you insert the cartridge to the body and fire, the result is that the barrel gets wider and the cartridge shuts. In the rear of the gun, it has a 6.8 cm. deep and 3.2 cm diameter hole. Maybe this is to loosen the recoil power of the gun.
