Why this is a
Masterpiece

This is a typical burial way of Dong Son people (in the North of Viet Nam) and it is the biggest coffin in boat shape with the largest mount of grave goods as utensils, tools, musical instruments and weapons.

History of the Object
Discovered in 1961 in Ngoc Khe commune, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong city. The amount of grave goods (107 objects) in such type and the value show that the dead in this coffin was a member of the aristocracy, so the developed society of Dong Son period was entering the stage of social differentiation resulting in the formation of social classes.
