Why this is a
Masterpiece

This gold lado forehead ornament is complete with its five gold feathers fixed in the main structure and all the pendants. The elegance and the delicacy of this adorment makes it a wonderful object.

History of the Object
Symbolising ethnic identity and prosperity, these adornments, whose very manufacture required special ritual sacrifices, were passed down from father to son along with the familiy treasures. They were fixed to a headscarf and worn on the forehead by men of high rank, warriors, or village chiefs, when new buildings or ceremonial poles were erected and buffalo sacrifices were organised.
