Why this is a
Masterpiece

This copybook is regarded as the first copybook of the Song Dynasty which was handed down to the present time. It has great historical, educational and artistic value.

History of the Object
The carving was done in the Tang Dynasty and the paper copy was made in the Song Dynasty. The original stele is in the Forest of Steles in Shaanxi Province. During the Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty, Xuanzang went to India to obtain Buddhist Scriptures. In recognition of this the Emperor ordered “Da Tang San Zang Sheng Jiao Xu ” praising this valuable contribution of Xuanzang.
