Why this is a
Masterpiece

This ink tablet won the Excellence Award in the Nanyang Industrial Exposition held in Nanjing, and in 1915, it won the Gold Medal in the Panama Exposition held in America. This inktablet, ingeniously designed and exquisitely made, is one of the treasures in the ink-making history of China.

History of the Object
Made in the shape of the earth, this inktablet is drawn with equator, longitude and latitude lines, and the front and back side of it represents the eastern and western hemisphere respectively. It was made especially by Hu Kaiwen 's Ink House in the second year of Xuantong Period in the Qing Dynasty (1910).
