Why this is a
Masterpiece

Chosen and explained by Yoshiho YASUGI "Wedding Gift by Origin". I have been overseas four times from a sense of responsibility to expand our collection of ethnological artifacts from Central America. The total number of artifacts, including those donated and purchased in Japan, now exceeds 10,000 pieces. I tried to select the best looking item from amongst them, and what came to my mind is this “Tree of Life”. This features the story of Adam and Eve in the Book of Genesis, depicted on a small candleholder intended as a wedding gift. It has, however, become larger and more gorgeous over recent decades, and is now a typical example of folk craft to be found in Mexico.
