Why this is a
Masterpiece

Rice bins are made of various materials to meet the features of each region. The rice bin the museum owns is high up from the floor for good ventilation purposes and for preventing bugs from getting to the grains. The interior is clayed for the same purposes.

History of the Object
A rice bin that stores threshed rice is generally made of dirt or straws, which is why this bamboo rice bin is so unique. The size differs but this rice bin can store up to 40 rice bags. These rice bags were taken out from a small door at the bottom of this bin and the inside of the bin was clayed to prevent rice from leaking.
