Why this is a
Masterpiece

It is a superb example of a festive woman's coat called kurteh. It contains elements known both in western parts of India and Pakistan (embroidery with mirror pieces) as well as in the Central Asia (especially ikat fabrics).

History of the Object
The history is not clear; the coat was acquired as an object of Baluchi provenance but it joins the features of textiles of many ethnic groups and regions.
