It is a masterpiece because it is exceptionally beautifully created.

History of the Object
The horse is standing with his right foreleg raised, his head, with the mouth open, turned in towards his mane. The saddle has cloth flaps hanging down, a knot at the top; there is a blanket under the saddle, Sassanidic-type rosettes and crests on the back, hindquarters and breast. The tail is cropped and knotted.
