Masterpiece

This is a cloisonné enamel vase, type hu, with figurative bronze handles. The surface of the work is decorated with a stellar ornament and with two enamel bands with a stylized flowers decor of white, red, yellow, green, turquoise and dark blue enamels. The vase is an example of an early 16th Century work with a perfect feeling for form and enamel decor.

History of the Object
Enamel works of art were already known at the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty but became popular among the Chinese aristocracy in the Ming Dynasty.
