Why this is a
Masterpiece

The main weight of the body falls below the center, resulting in an almost triangular form. The glazing, of a translucent pale-blue tone, is of the utmost quality and successfully enhances the neatly decorated white-slip surface. The mouth has a narrow band of inlaid lines, and two horizontal lines run around the neck and the lower sections of the body. The foot, also with a white inlaid decoration, is relatively small and fans out slightly. The base has sand spur-marks.

History of the Object
This pear-shaped bottle is an outstanding example of Buncheong ware indicative of the height of Joseon achievement in the technique of stamping.
