It is a wonderful and historically interesting object in the collection.

History of the Object
Bronze drums were made of bronze and tin. They were found in South East Asia, in Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. However, it is assumed that bronze drums originated in the Dong Son Culture, the prehistoric period in Vietnam. Bronze Drums have many names depending on the style and the beliefs of local people.
