Why this is a
Masterpiece

The iron made in the past had better corrosion resistance than the present one. Furthermore, it was not only stronger but also better welded and cut. Based on this fact, Korea and countries around the world carried out an experiment for restoring the traditional methods of iron production. The Iron Museum, which ran the experiment for restoring the traditional methods of iron production in 2002, is working on ways to produce iron through traditional methods.

History of the Object
This pig iron is the result of a traditional iron production experiment performed by the Iron Museum from June 8 to June 9, 2002. The experiment was to investigate traditional iron-making by using iron ore and charcoal with the restored iron furnace. This pig iron was made in June 15, 2002.
