By integrating the painting techniques of many master painters in the Song and Yuan Dynasty, Lan Ying's painting was vigorous, adding his own unique features. He was named the initiator of "The Martial Arts School" and "the last representative of the "Zhejiang school painting". The painting has a seal and signature: "Painted in the Xiangyuan Tower, West Lake by imitating Jing Hao." "LanYing".

History of the Object
Lan Ying (1585-1664), a native of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, was a painter in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. He excelled in painting landscapes and was also skilled in painting figures, flowers and birds, bamboos and stones.
