Why this is a
Masterpiece

These silver coins represent the national pride of the people.

History of the Object
These are popular symbolic coins of the Pyu period. Pyu people also used coins as a means of exchange. The symbols at Srikshetra coins are a throne, moon, sun, spots, wave patterns and stupa motifs. Pyu refers to a collection of city-states and their language found in the central and northern regions of modern-day Myanmar. Much of its history is known from the remnants of their civilization found in stone inscriptions.
