Why this is a
Masterpiece

This statue was carved with careful and precise skill. It is one of the finest representative works from the Northern Qi.

History of the Object
The Buddha sits in a graceful posture, carries a vivid expression, and is most meticulously designed. It has a decorative halo and a rarely seen double lotus pedestal, showing distinct differences from the robust and unadorned styles of the early Northern and Southern Dynasties.
