Why this is a
Masterpiece

This jar is preserved in its original form and thus clearly shows the traits of blue and white porcelain manufacturing skills of the time. The white porcelain is a result of a combination of techniques and traditions accumulated over the years.

History of the Object
This lidded jar with cloud and dragon design is believed to have been manufactured during the 19th century. Its lively dragon pattern and margin clearly reveal the aesthetic consciousness of the people of the Joseon Period. The blue color is created by cobalt pigment.
