This figurine is from Tibet and depicts Palden Lhamo, a wrathful female deity who is one of the main protectors of Tibetan Buddhism. She rides a young mule and is accompanied by two attendants, in an ocean of blood, surrounded by flames and in the midst of a hurricane. Her help is requested by most Tibetans in order to remove obstacles for success in both worldly and spiritual endeavors.

History of the Object
The piece is in the collection from 1952. Before it was in the collection of the History Museum (Riga, Latvia).
