Why this is a
Masterpiece

It is believed that this object is dated to the mid Joseon Period. The surface of the vessel is decorated with designs of a butterfly and grass. Unlike contemporary bowls the majority of which are complete white porcelain without design, it has decorations painted on it. It has been selected as a masterpiece for its rarity and beauty.

History of the Object
The museum director, Mr. Hwang, found this on the hills of Osu-ri of Geoje-myeon during the field investigation.
