Masterpiece

This is a Masterpiece of the museum. This cloth painting is very rare and so far only one has been discovered.

History of the Object
The painting was found in the debris from the damaged temple No. 315. It is now displayed in the museum after preservation. The painting depicts the previous life of the Lord Buddha. The name of the story or jataka is "Telapata" (the victory of five kinds of sense or mind). The original colors which were used in the Bagan period can still be seen on the painting.
