Why this is a
Masterpiece

The composition of this miniature is remarkably vigorous, showing the wild elephant pounding the edges of the frame as it were, pushing the figures that are attempting to keep it under control with spears and fire towards the edge. The painters of the workshops at the court of Bundi in Rajasthan were masters in portraying elephants, the strongest animal in the world.
