Masterpiece

This Hintang is the only one in a museum. No other piece exists outside Luang Namtha.

History of the Object
These stones are called Hintang or Standing Stones. They bear strong resemblance to other megalithic structures elsewhere in the region. They were arranged in small circles on mountaintops. Archaeologists have not yet investigated the exact meaning of these stones.
