Why this is a
Masterpiece

Besides being artistically beautiful it also shows the way Siebold had his collection registered. The notes written on the drawing show us the history of the research into the collection.

History of the Object: Siebold ordered many drawings of plants and animals from Keiga to document the shapes and colours of the natural world of Japan.
