Why this is a
Masterpiece

Its perimeters are attached with fur and its front and back are decorated with tassels. A daenggi made of silk hangs down over the back of the ayam. Some ayam worn by kisaengwere very luxuriously adorned with big and sumptuous jewels on the tassels of both sides.

History of the Object
An ayam is a winter bonnet worn by common ladies during their outings. Especially in the western part of Korea, kisaeng Korean female entertainers, commonly wore an ayam. It generally consists of a crowm and a long ribbon attached to the back of the crown.
