Why this is a
Masterpiece

This Buncheong bottle with a floral design is one of the most excellent and artistic examples of Buncheong porcelain. Buncheong Ware is a grayish-blue colored porcelain which was popular in the early Joseon Dynasty (1392 - 1910).

History of the Object
The body of the vase is inlaid with peonies and lotus petals. The mouth rim of the vase was restored. Buncheong Ware inherited the techniques of inlaid celadon of the Goryeo dynasty. It was also popular in the 15th Century, the early Joseon Dynasty (1392 - 1910). Buncheong means that the biscuit is brushed on with a slip of white clay, then it is glazed and fired.
