Masterpiece

It is a unique piece from the Pyu Period.

History of the Object
Miniature stupas were used for private worship. The cylindrical body stands on a (refilled) base. it is topped with a receding conical shape with a lotus bud. Pyu refers to a collection of city-states and their language found in the central and northern regions of modern-day Myanmar. Much of its history is known from the remnants of their civilization found in stone inscriptions.
