Why this is a
Masterpiece

Made by Kim Jeong-ho, the territorial map of the Great East (Daedongyeojido) is one of the greatest maps produced in late Joseon. On this map the national territory is divided into 22 sections running approximately 120 ri from north to south, with each section designed to form a single volume when folded.

History of the Object
This woodblock of Daedongyeojido was engraved by Kim Jeong-ho. They were produced in 1861 and retouched several times afterwards.
