Why this is a
Masterpiece

A brown bark cloth with cotton tufts and red cotton cloth at the lateral edges. This was created by a beating process that achieved a distinct transparency of material. This kind of loincloth is made of bark beaten into a very fine texture which can be achieved through a very tedious process by a specialized Batak craftsman. The ornamentations and cotton tufts are added after the drying of the bark. It is a masterpiece owing to the sheerness achieved through the process manifesting shell, as well as a fine sense of aesthetics of the people. It is a rare piece.
